Cookies and storage
CAE CRM uses two cookies, and a little browser storage, only to make the service work. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so we don't need to ask for your consent. The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations allow storage that's strictly necessary for a service you've asked for.

Keeps you signed in, and holds a security token that stops other websites making changes in your name. It's signed so it can't be tampered with, and it's only sent over secure connections. | 12 hours after you sign in. If you haven't signed in, it lasts until you close your browser. |
cae_device | A random number that recognises this browser, so we can email you if someone signs in to your account from a browser you haven't used before. It's strictly necessary for keeping your account secure. | 2 years. |

cae-theme | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark look. | Until you clear your browser's storage. |
cae-device | A random device number that HMRC requires us to send with VAT returns, as part of its fraud prevention rules. It's only created on the VAT pages. | Until you clear your browser's storage. |
cae-ai-conversation, cae-ai-open | If your workspace uses the AI assistant: which conversation the side panel is showing, and whether it was open, so it stays with you as you move between pages. The conversation itself stays in CAE CRM. | Until you close the browser tab. |
Other websites
Our pages don't load anything from other websites. The typeface and everything else on the page come from CAE CRM itself, so no one else learns that you visited.
Web forms and quotes that businesses share from CAE CRM use the same session cookie, for security only.
Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the session cookie, you won't be able to sign in or submit forms.
